Tom Scutt knows the Open Air Theatre well; his work on the 2016/17 production of the Olivier Award-winning Jesus Christ Superstar, helped cement it as one of the most thrilling musical revivals of the last few years. Now he tackles Little Shop of Horrors, its key protagonist being a mysterious new plant with killer potential, quite a departure from the bible!
Associate Artist at the Donmar Warehouse, Scutt has worked on a number of their productions, including Les Liaisons Dangereuses and The Weir. His simple and stylish work on Constellations (West End/MTC New York/Royal Court), the sea of suspended white balloons was ‘just plain magical…it takes your breath away’ (A Younger Theatre).
We’re looking forward to seeing Scutt’s artistic flair bringing Skid Row to life, and just how will he create a man-eating plant?!
